YWCA OF GREATER CLEVELAND: EARLY LEARNING CENTER

Founded in 2001, the Early Learning Center provides high-quality early childhood education to families that have experienced homelessness and other traumatic occurrences through a two generational trauma-informed approach, small classrooms, and coordination of supportive services. This innovative model assesses and identifies the social-emotional needs of the children, works with families to create case plans, achieve goals, prevents re-occurrence of homelessness, and empowers families to achieve and maintain the highest level of self-sufficiency. Your role as Family Engagement Specialist As a Family Engagement Specialist at the YWCA's Early Learning Center, you will play a pivotal role in supporting families by conducting participant intake assessments and crafting individualized service plans tailored to their unique needs. Your expertise will enable you to connect participants with essential community-based services, ensuring they receive comprehensive support. You'll actively engage in community outreach initiatives, utilizing your marketing skills to promote the YWCA's mission and recruit potential participants. Additionally, you will maintain accurate client and program records, adhering to the standards set by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). This position not only allows you to make a meaningful difference in people's lives but also provides an opportunity for personal and professional growth in the social services sector. What matters most To thrive as a Family Engagement Specialist at the YWCA's Early Learning Center, you will need a diverse skill set and relevant experience. A high school diploma is required, with an Associate's degree preferred, as well as at least five years of experience working with a diverse client population. Familiarity with the Cuyahoga County homeless system and continuum of care is essential, along with a strong understanding of mental health, addictions, poverty, and trauma. Excellent oral and written communication skills are crucial for effective engagement with families and community partners. Moreover, a valid Ohio driver's license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle are necessary to facilitate outreach and connect participants with available services. Your compassion, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to empathetic service will be key drivers of success in this impactful role.
