Account Representative | Patient Services Coordinator

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Patient Services Coordinator, providing essential clerical support and care coordination in a dynamic regional healthcare setting in the Midwest. This role involves assisting clients through admission processes, managing registration and financial enrollment, and ensuring accurate insurance verification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate admission duties and assist clients with completing admission packets, including necessary releases of information.
  • Complete registration and financial enrollment for new clients.
  • Collect and verify current insurance information for each client.
  • Assess client needs by determining acuity, identifying presenting problems, and gathering relevant historical information.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments based on assigned levels of care.
  • Perform clerical duties and maintain business records.
  • Manage collections, including payment of outstanding balances and copays.
  • Provide receptionist support such as greeting clients, directing them to waiting areas, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintaining office appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework in Microsoft applications, health, or behavioral sciences is preferred.

Experience

One to three years of experience in medical records, filing, and secretarial duties is required. Experience with processing referrals and coordinating access to appropriate treatment is beneficial. Preferred candidates have three to five years of experience in phone answering, medical records, and filing Personal Health Information (PHI).

Requirements
  • Good computer literacy and familiarity with basic Microsoft tools.
  • Basic experience in alpha-numeric filing.
  • Training in HIPAA compliance is preferred.
  • Strong integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence in communication and customer service.
  • Ability to work autonomously with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse populations and manage conflict effectively.
