Admissions Registered Nurse FT Nights About the Role: As a Admissions Registered Nurse FT Nights, you will be responsible for leading patient admissions, planning, organizing, and evaluating care interventions to achieve quality cost-effective outcomes. You will also support staff, patient, and family education to enhance knowledge, skills, and necessary behaviors to optimize patient health status. Essential Job Duties: Provides patient assessment/treatment by accessing new patients within 8 hours of admission, initiating treatment plans, administering individual nursing care as ordered by the physician, and providing direct patient group treatments as scheduled. Screens patients for clinical appropriateness for inpatient hospital criteria and obtains admission order from the attending physician. Collaborates with other disciplines and treating physician regarding patient care and revision of treatment regime as part of the Treatment Team. Manages medication administration and appropriate handling and disposal of expired medications. Reports all medication administering errors made in a timely manner. Manages other duties as assigned/required. Requirements: Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Louisiana. Minimum 1 year recent medical surgical or psychiatric clinical experience preferred. Knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current principles and practices clinically specific medical surgical, psychiatric nursing. Able to problem-solve and communicate effectively.
