The Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center seeks a high energy, self-starter to serve as the principal strategic advisor and senior administrative partner to the Director of the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center (TJCPC). This role ensures organizational alignment, drives execution of the Center's priorities, and manages high-level internal and external coordination across research, training, evaluation, outreach, and compliance functions.

The Senior Manager enhances the effectiveness of the Director by overseeing strategic initiatives, optimizing internal operations, and ensuring that the Center fulfills its statewide mandate in juvenile delinquency prevention, trauma-informed practice, and youth-serving workforce development.

The salary is determined in accordance with the University's compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates' education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as the Director's senior advisor on strategy, operations, and organizational performance; translates the Director's priorities into actionable plans; coordinates cross-division communication; leads strategic initiatives and high-priority projects.
• Oversees internal workflows, meeting structures, decision-making processes, communication systems, organizational culture initiatives, personnel matters, policy development, and alignment of division leaders with the Director's expectations.
• Manages the Director's workflow, priorities, executive communications, prepares executive briefings, reports, presentations, talking points, supervises administrative staff, and ensures timely completion of travel, invoices, reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Oversees Center-wide initiatives, tracks grant deliverables, compliance requirements, strategic goals, research dissemination, training expansions, statewide technical assistance, and monitors organizational performance.
• Supports the Director in managing relationships with TJJD, OJJDP, county juvenile probation departments, school districts, law enforcement, state and federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Juvenile Justice, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, Education, or related field.
• Seven years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, project management, and executive operations.
• Strong understanding of youth justice systems, trauma-informed practice, and youth-serving agencies.
• Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with office and project management software application and implementation.
• Ability to manage confidential information and navigate complex organizational environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Eight years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education, juvenile justice, public administration, military or nonprofit management.
• Experience working with Texas state agencies or university-based research centers.
• Familiarity with Title II Formula Grants, OJJDP requirements, or federal compliance frameworks.
• Experience supervising large teams, in multiple locations with cross-functional initiatives.
• Grant management.
• Policy experience.
