Practice Manager / Veterinary Technician Portland Vet Stroudwater Build Something Great From the Beginning

Portland Vet Stroudwater is a brand-new general practice built around exceptional medicine, teamwork, and compassionate care. We're looking for an experienced Practice Manager who is excited to help launch and grow a hospital from the ground up while remaining actively involved in patient care as a Veterinary Technician.

This is a unique dual-role position combining practice leadership with clinical support. As Practice Manager, you'll oversee daily hospital operations, lead and develop the team, and help establish the systems and workflows that drive success. As a Veterinary Technician, you'll work alongside the medical team, supporting patient care and contributing to a collaborative, team-first culture.

Working closely with hospital leadership, you'll help create an exceptional experience for clients, patients, and employees while building a thriving practice for the future.

• Full-time
• Four 10-hour shifts (Monday-Thursday) to start
• Schedule may evolve as the hospital grows
• Flexibility is appreciated

$75,000-$95,000 annually , based on experience

• Lead daily hospital operations, staffing, scheduling, and workflow management
• Work hands-on as a Veterinary Technician, supporting patient care and clinical services
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members
• Build a positive, accountable, and collaborative workplace culture
• Partner with the Medical Director and Operations Director to achieve hospital goals
• Monitor key performance metrics and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee development
• Ensure exceptional client service and patient care standards
• Resolve client concerns with professionalism and empathy
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulations

• Veterinary Technology degree
• Experienced veterinary assistants may be considered
• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital
• Competency in anesthesia and surgery
• 1+ years of leadership or management experience
• Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills
• Passion for team development and operational excellence
• Experience with budgeting, KPI tracking, and practice operations
• Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on clinical work
