Assistant manager II

Overview We're seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities. Help customers in a positive, approachable manner; address questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas. Perform opening and closing procedures. Process all corporate directives, including Pull and Hold, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications. Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention. Maintain store areas to company standards; protect and secure company assets. Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies and procedures. Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates. Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders. Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (restocking bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, taking out trash, etc.). Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives. Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store (preferred). Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills. Ability to work in a high-energy team environment. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills. Other Requirements Manager may be required to obtain specialized licenses for selling alcohol or tobacco; failure to comply may lead to demotion or separation of employment.
