Night Security Guard

This 3 day, 10 hour shift Night Security Guard provides a safe and secure environment for Wildlife Safari. Assist multiple departments in duties while being attentive to Wildlife Safari premises. Assists Event Coordinator for evening events by deterring unwanted behavior and assures grounds are clear of guests at the end of an event. Responsible for walking throughout the buildings and grounds, both accessible and non-accessible to guests. Being aware of animal right groups and the extreme and undesirable actions they may take to jeopardize Wildlife Safari. This position is three nights a week, 10 hour shift, may be more to cover pre-planned time off.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety as primary focus
• Deter undesirable behaviors and actions
• Assure animal exhibits are secured and not breached
• Assist departments such as checking coolers
• Help make the village and parking lot clear of debris
• Ensure authorized personnel on site
• Outstanding customer service skills including conflict resolution and courtesy
• Maintain situational awareness at all times
• Perform janitorial duties to aid in the cleanliness and positive impression of the park
• Other activities as assigned

Qualifications

• Help a valid driver’s license prior three years with a clean driving record
• At least 21 years old
• Ability to work independently
• No physical limitations; reasonable to security responsibilities
• Must be able to pass a drug test, including for marijuana
• Candidates must agree to a background check

This is a permanent, part-time position, with potential for full-time hours, depending on candidate. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.
