Mid-Level Mobile Developer
GeniusXLab
GeniusXLab, a leading IT consulting and digital transformation company headquartered in Avalon, Texas, is seeking to hire a Mid-Level Mobile Developer to join our team.
GeniusXLab partners with clients across industries to deliver custom software, mobile applications, and AI-infused integrations. We work as an embedded extension of our clients' teams, helping them ship faster, scale their platforms, and solve hard technical problems together. Our services span AI and machine learning, data engineering, web and mobile development, UI/UX design, MVP development, cloud and DevOps, and product strategy consulting, giving our engineers exposure to a wide range of industries including healthcare, e-commerce, and insurtech.
While GeniusXLab delivers strong technical outcomes for our clients, our culture is built around the people who make that possible. We invest in engineers who want real ownership of meaningful work, paired with a mission-driven culture focused on craft, accountability, and steady growth.
At GeniusXLab, we are looking for a Mid-Level Mobile Developer who can own features end-to-end with minimal oversight. You will work directly with client teams to design, build, and maintain mobile applications from architecture through release, making sound technical decisions and helping guide junior engineers along the way.
Reporting to a Senior Engineer or Engineering Lead, you will architect mobile app structure, make informed decisions on state management, navigation, and data flow, and integrate applications with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs and third-party SDKs. You will write and maintain tests to ensure reliability, profile and optimize app performance, and debug complex, cross-platform issues as they arise. You will participate actively in standups, planning sessions, and code reviews, reviewing the work of junior engineers and providing constructive, actionable feedback. Working directly with designers, backend engineers, and clients, you will translate ambiguous requirements into working features, identify technical risks early, and propose practical solutions. The pace is energetic, the problems are real, and your judgment will directly shape product outcomes.
The ideal candidate is resourceful, communicative, and accountable – someone who independently investigates and solves unfamiliar problems, keeps teammates and stakeholders informed and aligned, and owns outcomes, not just tasks, mistakes included.
**Experience:** 3+ years of professional experience building and shipping mobile applications to production.
**Mobile Stack Proficiency:** Strong proficiency in at least one mobile stack: Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, React Native, or Flutter.
**API Integration:** Solid understanding of RESTful API integration; experience with GraphQL is a plus.
**Release Management:** Experience with app store submission and release processes for the App Store and/or Google Play.
**Engineering Fundamentals:** A strong grasp of programming fundamentals, version control with Git, and CI/CD workflows.
**Communication Skills:** Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to work closely with teammates and clients in standups, planning, and technical discussions.
**Mentorship & Independence:** Comfortable working independently on ambiguous problems while mentoring less experienced engineers through code review and guidance.
**Nice to Have:** Experience with push notifications, offline-first architecture, or background processing; familiarity with native modules/bridging in cross-platform frameworks; and prior experience in an IT consulting or client-facing environment.
Your success in this role will be defined by three key pillars:
**Feature Ownership & Technical Judgment:** Own mobile features from planning through release and post-launch support, architecting solutions that balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
**Quality & Performance:** Apply rigorous testing, performance profiling, and secure coding practices to ensure applications remain reliable, performant, and production-ready under real-world usage.
**Mentorship & Client Collaboration:** Elevate the team around you by reviewing junior engineers' work and providing actionable feedback while communicating directly and confidently with clients to translate their needs into working software.
