SAP Order Processing Specialist

Essential Functions

• Enter customer selections, flooring and tile products, quantities, and other required details into SAP to create and process orders.
• Verify order information against customer selections and applicable documentation before entering orders into the system.
• Calculate and enter initial pricing and ensure order details are accurately recorded.
• Identify missing, incomplete, or conflicting information and promptly follow up with Design Centers or internal teams to resolve discrepancies before processing orders.
• Monitor order status and use system reports to track progress, identify potential delays, and communicate updates to leadership.
• Research material shortages and provide accurate details regarding affected products, orders, and potential impacts.
• Track customer orders and material lead times to support timely delivery for installation in new homes.
• Maintain accurate order records, selection documentation, billing backup, and order acknowledgments in accordance with customer requirements.
• Communicate professionally with internal teams and external customers to resolve order questions, clarify selection details, and ensure timely processing.
• Review job cost information to support accurate cost and revenue recognition.
• Enter and maintain job cost coding to reflect project margin status.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in job costs and margins, escalating complex or unusual issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow established procedures, company policies, and customer-specific requirements to ensure consistent and accurate order processing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of order entry, data entry, order processing, or administrative customer service experience preferred.
• Experience reviewing customer orders, verifying information, and processing high volumes of transactions preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies before they affect order accuracy or processing timelines.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Experience using SAP or another enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is a plus.
• Flooring, tile, building materials, or residential construction industry experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow up on missing information and work effectively with multiple teams.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Please note: This is an administrative order-processing position focused on reviewing customer selections, verifying order details, and entering transactions into SAP. It does not involve warehouse duties such as picking, pulling, packing, or physically handling materials.
