Quality Control Technician

Quality Control Technician Department: Service Reports to: Service Center Operations Manager Location: Thomson, Georgia Shift: 1st FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Overview As the Quality Control Technician, you will ensure all components, repairs, and completed pump assemblies meet company drawings, specifications, ISO procedures, and internal quality standards. You’ll perform final inspections on repairs, verify documentation, support calibration control, hold point inspections, and report non-conformances. You will work closely with technicians, supervisors, and customers and report to the Service Center Operations Manager. Responsibilities Inspect components per engineering drawings, specifications, and ISO procedures Perform final quality inspections on in-house and subcontracted repairs before shipment Document component dimensions and inspection findings electronically Conduct customer and workshop hold point inspections to verify compliance Identify and report non-conforming products or procedures Maintain and track precision measurement instruments and inspection equipment Ensure calibration requirements are completed and documented in accordance with ISO standards Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and OEM specifications Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, height gauges, and CMM equipment Support continuous improvement initiatives through problem solving and feedback Maintain organized inspection records, NCRs, calibration certificates, and traceability documentation Operate forklifts, cranes, and lifting equipment safely as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Train new employees on quality procedures and inspection practices when assigned Exercise stop-work authority on non-conforming products or unsafe procedures Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred, along with relevant experience in quality control, rotating equipment, or industrial repair. Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps, gearboxes, compressors, mixers, turbines). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and OEM specifications. Proficiency using precision measuring instruments. Understanding of ISO requirements, calibration control, traceability, NCR processes, and quality documentation. Strong communication, analytical thinking, organizational skills, and commitment to workplace safety. Technical Skills: Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, CMM equipment). Familiarity with NDT methods (visual, dye penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic). Ability to interpret metric and imperial measurements. Computer literacy for electronic documentation. Knowledge of vibration fundamentals and alignment concepts preferred.
