Field Service Technician – Shreveport, LA Installs and maintains cryogenic pressure vessels in industrial, medical, specialty gas, and welding markets. Performs installation, preventative maintenance, and repair on bulk gas delivery systems. Collaborates with team members to safely operate Airgas vehicles from facility to customer locations, maintaining company vehicle and equipment inventory. Conducts sight surveys, installs piping, regulators, manifolds, pumps, and drives. Manages hazardous materials responsibly, follows Airgas safety procedures, and attends monthly safety meetings. Works a 50% travel schedule, Monday‑Friday 8:00am–5:00pm, with overnight stays as needed and is on call 24/7 for emergencies. Responsibilities Installs and maintains cryogenic pressure vessels in industrial, medical, specialty gas, and welding markets. Attends in‑house and external training to develop expertise with bulk gas delivery systems serviced by Airgas Mid South. Performs installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs on bulk gas delivery systems manufactured or distributed by Airgas Mid South. Collaborates with the team to safely operate an Airgas vehicle from facility to customer locations to complete duties and work orders. Maintains company vehicle, tools, truck inventory, and equipment to respond to customer needs in a timely manner. Delivers, installs, and maintains all cryogenic pressure vessels in the customer base. Performs preventative maintenance checks on a regularly scheduled basis of all cryogenic pressure vessels. Coordinates and maintains inventory of parts and supplies needed to perform duties. Responsibly manages hazardous materials daily in a safe and approved manner. Installs piping and final line regulator systems for medical and industrial applications. Sets alarms for automatic emergency reserve systems of gases at hospitals. Installs manifolds for use with high‑pressure gas cylinders. Installs and maintains cryogenic pumps and drives to all branch locations. Conducts sight surveys at prospective customer locations to understand requirements and build alignment on what is needed to perform installations. Installs and maintains cryogenic pumping systems on delivery trucks. Maintains a clean and safe workplace and attends safety meetings. Follows Airgas safety procedures and attends monthly safety meetings. Required Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum of three years of relevant work experience. Valid employment authorization in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship required now or in the future. Capability to write routine reports and professional correspondence. Experience and good skills with troubleshooting. Valid driver’s license. Experience operating a forklift and maintaining the necessary certifications. Will need to pass required testing and obtain Medical Certificate and Brazing License. Ability to travel with overnight stays. Experience in the safe operation of both electrical and manual hand tools. Ability to read, interpret, and produce detailed process diagrams for customer sites. Professional communication with customers and vendors; must maintain a professional appearance. Ability to read and interpret various documents, including MSDS, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and P & I D’s. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with bulk gas delivery systems. Prior experience in the HVAC or plumbing industry. Prior experience working on pumps or mechanical machinery.
