LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.Louisiana Bridge Builders offers a competitive salary, relocation assistance where relocation is required and approved, medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time, and more.Louisiana Bridge Builders is an equal opportunity employer.Position Purpose/SummaryThe Quality Engineer is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by coordinating, documenting, and reporting quality activities for the Project.LocationThis position is based in Lake Charles, LA.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure all inspection and testing documentation is accurately completed and filed.Monitor and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for construction activities.Verify that required hold points, witness points, and acceptance criteria are followed in accordance with specifications.Perform routine field inspections to verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and work plans.Assist in ensuring that quality requirements are implemented by subcontractors.Compile comprehensive reports detailing quality performance, highlighting trends, and suggesting corrective actions and lessons learned.Collaborate in the digitalization of quality records.Monitor, verify and generate daily reports on the progress and performance of contractor activities.Maintaining an active role in providing relevant information to continually improve procedures, Work Plans, and QC efforts.Performing the off?site quality inspections at the Owners/suppliers/manufacturer's yard/shop as needed.Participating in the analysis of corrective and preventive actions and, in general, identifying and recording any incidents related to the Quality Plans and Quality Procedures.Reporting quality issues associated with the construction and track deficiencies/non?conformances.Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills for SuccessEffectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator.Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime and work additional and/or different hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed, to best serve the business operations.Ability to perform on-site inspections in outdoor areas.QualificationsAt a minimum, the Quality Engineer must have a bachelor's degree in a related field of study along with 3+ years of related quality experience or high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 7+ years of related quality experience. Experience working with Design-Build projects and/or the construction industry is preferred. Must possess a current and valid driver's license.Knowledge and experience in the implementation of the ISO 9001 standard on Quality Management System is required.
