Grounds Crew

Principal Function: The Grounds Crew position is responsible for performing gardening, landscaping, snow removal and grounds maintenance helping to provide a safe, clean and aesthetically appealing environment. Provides maintenance of irrigation systems, pathways and paved surfaces.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:Maintains physical condition and appearance of all non-historic public areasPrunes trees and hedges, mows lawn, removes weeds, edges walkways and maintains exterior areasMixes and applies fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals following manufacturer’s directions and departmental guidelinesPrepares soil for planting and maintains beds and grass around buildingsMaintains flowers and plants in public gardens and all grounds.Helps perform routine road and parking lot maintenance and repair to include snow removal from parking and pedestrian areasIdentifies and assists with exterior repairsProvides assistance as needed in other areas of Conner PrairieSupervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty according to the requirements of the organization.
