Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Bryn Hesketh Unit - Glan Clwyd Hospital - Bluestones Medical Agency Pay Rates £17.00 - £34.00 per hour Job Overview Bluestones Medical is currently recruiting compassionate and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) to work within the Bryn Hesketh Unit at Glan Clwyd Hospital . This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated mental health professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care within an inpatient mental health setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting service users with a range of acute and complex mental health needs. Flexible agency shifts are available including days, nights, weekends, and long days. Key Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Deliver safe, effective, and recovery-focused mental health nursing care. Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and risk assessments. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans. Administer medication in line with NMC standards and local policies. Monitor mental state changes and respond appropriately to deterioration or escalation needs. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation. Therapeutic Care & Patient Support Provide compassionate, person-centred care promoting dignity, respect, and recovery. Support service users with complex emotional, behavioural, and psychological needs. Use de‑escalation techniques and manage challenging behaviours safely. Engage patients in therapeutic activities and structured ward programmes. Support families and carers with appropriate communication and guidance. Team Working Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, support workers, and MDT members. Participate in ward rounds, handovers, and multidisciplinary care planning meetings. Support junior staff and contribute to a positive therapeutic environment. Compliance & Professional Standards Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and mental health legislation. Maintain safeguarding awareness and escalating concerns appropriately. Comply with Mental Health Act (MHA) and Mental Capacity Act (MCA) requirements. Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development. Person Specification Essential Requirements Valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN). Minimum 6 months UK mental health nursing experience. Strong understanding of risk assessment and care planning in mental health settings. Ability to manage challenging behaviour using appropriate de‑escalation techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible approach to shift work. Desirable Previous NHS mental health inpatient experience. Experience working in acute or secure mental health settings. Knowledge of electronic patient record systems.
