Customer Service Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY
The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the customer service department, training CSRs, and overseeing daily operations. The role requires a solid understanding of manufacturing, planning, and transportation, and involves approximately 25‑50% travel.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain positive customer relationships Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members Ensure accurate data capture and system entry Utilize data and problem‑solving skills to resolve internal, customer service, and vendor issues Continuously seek internal and customer process improvement opportunities Promote a team environment Manage personnel, including performance feedback, training, mentorship, and progression development Assist with implementation and testing of new account start‑ups Support teams located at customer sites Prepare and present data and findings to customers Review, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) Meet or exceed all team KPIs for Customer Service Conduct project work as requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure direct reports deliver projects within scope, on time, and meet customer expectations Manage team vacation schedules and workload to assist in project prioritization Develop direct reports Make employment decisions regarding staff and performance managementMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years of transportation/supply chain management experience in a 3PL environment Minimum 2 years of successful management experience in logistics, customer service, or a related field Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures (mild to moderate) throughout the yearSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Basic knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) Excellent communication skills – verbal and written Strong presentation abilities – persuasive but empathetic Conflict and pressure handling with priority setting Analytical mindset with solid mathematical foundation General understanding of Supply Chain Management and Logistics, including regulatory compliance Cross-functional collaboration with warehouse, transportation, and sales teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
4‑Year college degree preferred; equivalent experience considered Prefer 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within logistics/distribution/supply chain Multi‑language knowledge preferredCORE COMPETENCIES
