Conduct activities that measure and improve workplace safety culture. Implement corrective actions for stresses that impair employee health and efficiency. Interpret OSHA standards and regulations and maintain cooperative relationship with OSHA. Monitor and support a robust process for incident investigation and failure analysis of environmental, health and safety incidents. Conduct health and safety training courses for supervisors and employees, as needed. Provide technical expertise and assistance in the design of protective equipment for uses on processes and machinery and redesign equipment to eliminate and reduce safety and health hazards as needed. Manage aspects of workers compensation and act as a liaison to 3rd party claims management group. Implement and monitor the effectiveness of Textron EHS standards and policies. Coordinate activities involving outside regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, etc. Analyze proposed and final regulations for impacts to manufacturing operations. Submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual reports to federal, state, local and corporate offices as required. QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, safety engineering, occupational safety, or related field required OR years of experience in lieu of degree. Years of Experience: P1 – 0-2 years of relevant experience with degree OR 4 years of relevant EHS experience in lieu of degreeSoftware Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Additional Requirements: Certified or ability to be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED required. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and federal/state regulations, OSHA injury reporting preferred.
