Job Title

Radiology Specialist

Duties

Support the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System, the Defense Health Agency, and the Department of War through:

  • Diagnostic radiology casework
  • Overseeing and interpreting radiological examinations conducted by the Forensic Pathology Investigations Division
  • Oversight and implementation of current Forensic Radiology processes and the development and implementation of new Forensic Radiology processes
  • Outstanding, authoritative, broad, and intensive knowledge of all modalities of radiology, with an emphasis on forensic radiology
  • Development and evolution of radiologic imaging service protocols, oversight/supervision of radiology technologists and service practices
  • Maintaining statistical records of workload, participating in Forensic Pathology Investigations meetings and committees
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams consisting of Medical Examiners, Medicolegal Death Investigators, mortuary affairs specialists, radiology technicians, and IT personnel
