About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must have BLS and ACLS certifications. Description: The Cardiac Catheterization Lab comprises two procedure rooms. The team includes 9 staff members, consisting of RNs and Cath Lab Techs. During the day shift, there is 1 supervisor, 4 RNs, and 2 Cath Lab Techs. The night shift includes on-call staff only, with configurations of 2 RNs and 1 Cath Lab Tech or 1 RN and 2 Cath Lab Techs. Patient ratios require a team of 3 members for each patient procedure. The lab is equipped with Phillips and Siemens fluoroscopy equipment. The EMR utilized is MERGE Hemo for Cath Lab documentation and Meditech. Preferred candidates should have experience in electrophysiology. Typical procedures performed include left and right heart catheterizations, pacemaker implantation, ICD placement, Watchman procedures, IR procedures, and vascular EP ablations. Ideal candidates will be team players and flexible. Unit policies and guidelines include procedural guidelines such as universal precautions, timeout procedures, and moderated sedation guidelines. The schedule includes one full weekend plus two weekdays, totaling 10 shifts per four-week schedule.
