We are looking for an Attorney/Lawyer to support employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation matters in Herndon, Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to guide cases from early assessment through resolution, including hearings and appeals when needed. The position is well suited to a legal practitioner who combines sound judgment, strong advocacy, and clear client communication while working closely with an experienced defense team.

Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of Virginia workers’ compensation matters from initial review through settlement, hearing, or appeal as appropriate.
• Investigate claims, evaluate legal and financial exposure, and shape practical defense strategies aligned with client goals.
• Draft and revise pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and other case-related documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Represent clients in proceedings before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, including hearings, mediations, depositions, and conferences.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients, claims representatives, opposing counsel, witnesses, and retained experts throughout the life of each matter.
• Organize case files, track deadlines, and enter time promptly to support effective matter management and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff in a team-oriented environment focused on high-quality legal service and career development.

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Active Virginia law license in good standing.

• One to five years of legal experience, with prior exposure to workers’ compensation, insurance defense, or litigation preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to research legal issues, prepare persuasive written work, and advocate effectively in contested matters.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple deadlines and priorities.

• Clear and detail-oriented communication skills for interacting with clients and other legal stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently while contributing productively within a collaborative legal team.
