Details Work in the Family Birth Center of a rural LDRP hospital with fewer than 100 births per month Provide care across labor and delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn/nursery units Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00 Patient ratio of 1:4 Utilizes external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration Any charting system accepted, with preference for candidates experienced in EMR documentation Requirements Active CA RN license required Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NRP required; fetal monitoring certification required AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate certification and FHM certification preferred Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience required Community hospital experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products Experience assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management Experience recovering C-section patients and performing sterile vaginal exams Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration Copies of all current certifications required for consideration Additional Information Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care across the perinatal continuum in a supportive, team-oriented environment Perform neonatal care duties including APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and thermoregulation Provide postpartum care including fundus/lochia checks, breastfeeding support, and cesarean recovery care Administer medications such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, with only one holiday request approved per contract Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius Returning employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-745295.
