MRI Tech- Westmont- Evenings

Overview MRI Technologist – evenings at Westmont. Full time, 40 hours per week. Work Monday–Friday 11:30 pm–8:00 pm, with two weekend days per month 7:30 am–4:00 pm, and occasional holidays and travel. Responsibilities Perform a variety of diagnostic MRI procedures, completing studies from start to finish under radiologist direction. Conduct routine MRIs and MRAs, obtain accurate verbal histories, and administer IV contrast. Maintain a positive imaging environment and act as patient liaison. Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas. Ensure MRI safety standards are met, including removal of ferromagnetic materials from the scan room. Explain emergency shutdown procedures and fire/safety evacuations. Check patient transfer/transport equipment for compliance with safety standards. Operate required equipment to produce scans using established protocols. Complete necessary protocol tasks and perform ordered examinations per written protocols. Identify patients correctly with three unique identifiers and introduce themselves appropriately. Explain procedures in lay terms, provide educational material, and address patient questions. Verify MRI screening forms, start IV access according to standard procedure, and inject contrast with proper site and amount. Record injection parameters, monitor patients, and document QA when reactions occur. Prepare and position patients to achieve the highest image quality. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited MRI education program. ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(MR), or ARMRIT Certified Technologist. BLS – Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR. Minimum of one year MRI imaging experience. Ability to stand for prolonged periods, bend, stoop, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions (computer keyboard). Attention to detail and legible handwriting. Capability to lift/push/pull 50–100 lb. Manipulate MRI coils, table, and accessories; reach equipment >6 ft. Assist patient transfer from stretcher, wheelchair, or bed to MRI table. Adequate eyesight to observe patient condition, read MRI screens, and evaluate image quality. Sufficient hearing for patient inquiries. Communicate with other personnel caring for the patient. Respond promptly to alarms and signals.
