Job Title: Logistics Cost Control Specialist

Location: 2 T.W. Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709

HYBRID: onsite 3 / remote 2

Shift Timings: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; 1 Hour Lunch

Function: Logistics / Physical Distribution

Reports To: Logistics or Supply Chain Manager

Position Summary

• The Logistics Analytics & Cost Control Specialist (Contractor) provides analytical and coordination support to the Logistics and Physical Distribution organization. This role is responsible for logistics cost analysis, transportation performance oversight, SAP S/4HANA data governance, audit support, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze logistics cost drivers, including freight, transportation, and distribution expenses, to support cost transparency and informed decision‑making.
• Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to logistics analytics, transportation oversight, and internal controls.
• Review shipment, lane, and carrier performance data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Assist with RTP Logistics mailbox for daily issues to help develop long term solutions
• Act as an analytical liaison with transportation providers (e.g., Uber Freight) to support issue investigation, escalation, and resolution.
• Help develop SAP S/4HANA reporting and data governance support related to logistics and transportation.
• Support periodic logistics reporting activities and prepare documentation to support internal and external audits.
• Support ad‑hoc analytical requests and participate in continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in logistics analytics, transportation analysis, supply chain finance, or ERP reporting roles.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems; S/4HANA experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
