It is an intermediate care facility operated by the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services and provides person‑centered care to support independence. About The Role Essential personnel, required to work in emergencies or facility needs. All positions require flexible shifts, including overtime as requested. Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility support. Utilize behavior management strategies for maladaptive behaviors. Provide emotional and behavioral support while promoting independence. Implement behavior intervention plans and collaborate with the support team. Foster a safe, structured, and positive environment. Shift Hours 1st shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Shift Differential 1st shift weekend: $3.00/hr. Training & Certification All new hires must complete the facility’s Pre‑service training program for Direct Support Professional Staff, including Person‑Centered Approach, CPR/First Aid, TOVA, medication administration, nutritional management, and physical/behavioral management. Training lasts 10 days, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Subsequent training in behavior management and crisis intervention is available. Position numbers 00281 and 00216 will be filled in this posting. Skills and Experience Required Strong verbal and written communication skills. Dependable, accountable, and reliable. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to work with an integrated team. High school diploma or equivalent. Active, valid driver’s license. Basic computer skills, including using a keyboard, mouse, and navigating an Electronic Health Record with minimal assistance after training. Physical capacity to meet job demands, including standing, bending, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, providing support during daily personal care, and intervening with aggressive behaviors. Successful completion of the facility’s Pre‑Service training program (CPR, First Aid, medication administration, nutritional management, and physical/behavioral management) required for continued employment. Ability to collaborate with co‑workers, Residential Supervisors, Administrator on Duty, and ID team members. Bonus Points If You Have Prior experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or other disabilities. Experience working with medically fragile individuals. Experience as a Direct Support Professional, Certified Nursing Assistant, or similar role. Experience working with electronic medical records.
