Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical (Med Surg)

Sentara Obici Hospital located in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 21‑bed Medical–Surgical unit. Multiple shifts, including night shift, are available. Compensation & Incentives Sign‑on bonus up to $20,000 for qualified night‑shift candidates. Sign‑on bonus of $7,500 for new graduates. No contract required. Competitive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) with match, disability, long‑term care, etc. Responsibilities Provide competent nursing care based on the critical thinking model and the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, coordination, education, and evaluation). Adhere to standards of practice and professional performance, including ethics, cultural competence, communication, collaboration, leadership, evidence‑based practice, quality improvement, and resource utilization. Deliver patient‑centered care in a collaborative environment with preceptors and interdisciplinary teams. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science (MSN) preferred. Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program (must complete by hiring). Registered Nursing degree or diploma required. Certification & Licensure Active Registered Nursing license required. Students may be on the process to obtain RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire. Experience No prior experience required; 1 year of acute care preferred.
