Anesthesia Tech I - ASC Manhasset

Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Anesthesia Tech I – ASC Manhasset. The successful candidate will be responsible for stocking anesthetic supplies for ORs, maintaining all anesthetic equipment, ensuring equipment is available, and responding to codes within the limits of the job responsibilities. Job Responsibilities Respond to codes in line with duties. Calibrate and run quality control and quality assurance analysis. Calibrate and troubleshoot anesthesia machines. Set up Level I RIS, syringe pumps, capnographs, TEG and TEEs. Set up intravenous, central venous, arterial, pulmonary artery catheters and other equipment using sterile techniques. Clear and clean anesthesia machines, ensuring sterility and performing standard procedural checks. Assist with troubleshooting technical problems and make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment. Inform Engineering and supervisors of needed repairs. Check machine drawers to ensure they are stocked. Make available fluids (lactated Ringers, plasma lite, normal saline, HESpan, flextend, FFP, whole blood, albumin). Disposal of used supplies in regular and contaminated cases. Ensure medical gas pipeline operational; check status of gas cylinder banks; replace empty cylinders. Minimum Qualifications High school education required. One year of work experience in a perioperative area or related field and/or familiarity with OR drug and equipment terminology. Ability to read, write, and follow instructions. Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs. Basic computer skills. Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
