Nurse Intern- Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke 5N OBC

Location: MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute- Old Brooklyn Bi-weekly Hours: 16.00 Shift: Variable Days and Shifts For nearly two centuries, MetroHealth's mission has been focused on delivering high-quality patient-centered care to all communities in Northeast Ohio. Our Inpatient Rehabilitation facility is consistently ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best in Ohio and the nation while delivering premier care for complicated orthopedics cases, stroke, spinal cord, and traumatic brain injuries. In addition, MetroHealth has been designated a Spinal Cord Injury Model System by the National Institutes of Health, one of only 18 such centers nationally. Join our Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke Unit, 5N! Primary Patient Population: • Stroke Rehabilitation Primary skills utilized/learned:

Neurological assessments
Adaptive ADLs
Transfer/Mobility training
Vital signs, IVs, Foley Catheter insertion/removal, Wound care, etc.

Personnel Nurse Intern will work with: • RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians Number of beds on unit: • 14 beds MetroHealth offers industry-leading benefits, including tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, professional certification incentives, and medical/dental insurance. As a public employer, employees participate in the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS). Required Qualifications:

Enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
Completed fundamentals of nursing
Currently registered in clinical rotations
Continuous enrollment in a nursing program
Eligibility to continue in the position is a maximum of 6 months upon graduating from nursing school
Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
