KMC Electric is seeking Foremen, Journeymen, and Registered Apprentices to support multi-family and commercial new construction projects

Licensed Foreman: The Electrical Foreman leads job site execution, oversees crews, and ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage productivity and quality in a fast-paced construction environment.

Licensed Journeyman Electrician: This role is ideal for experienced electricians who can work independently, support crews, and ensure high-quality, code-compliant installations. The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in accordance with applicable codes, safety standards, and project specifications. This role may also provide guidance to apprentices and support job site leadership.

Registered Apprentice: This role is designed for individuals who are actively developing their skills under the guidance of licensed electricians. The Electrical Apprentice supports licensed electricians in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems while developing technical skills and gaining practical experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:  

Foreman

•              Lead and supervise electrical crews on commercial and multifamily construction projects

•              Plan, coordinate, and execute daily work activities to meet project timelines

•              Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans

•              Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies

•              Monitor productivity, quality, and material usage to support project profitability

•              Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades

•              Train, mentor, and support electricians and apprentices

•              Maintain accurate reporting on progress, issues, and job site conditions

Journeyman

•              Install and maintain electrical systems in multifamily and commercial construction environments

•              Perform rough-in and finish work, including conduit installation, wiring, and device placement

•              Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications

•              Install panels, circuits, and electrical components

•              Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues as they arise

•              Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes

•              Maintain a safe and organized job site and adhere to OSHA safety standards

•              Communicate effectively with foremen, supervisors, and team members

Apprentice

•              Assist with installation of electrical systems in new construction projects

•              Support rough-in and finish work, including pulling wire and installing conduit

•              Assist with installation of electrical panels, fixtures, and components

•              Maintain tools, materials, and job site organization

•              Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

•              Learn to read blueprints and electrical diagrams

•              Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

Minimum Qualifications: 

Foreman

•              Valid Journeyman Electrician License (or ability to obtain reciprocity in required states such as WI or MN with company support)

•              Proven experience in a Foreman or lead role on commercial or multifamily projects

•              Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and job site management

•              Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schematics

•              Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

•              Willingness to travel and work across multiple project locations

Journeyman

•              Valid Journeyman Electrician License (required)

•              Experience in commercial and/or multifamily construction preferred

•              Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and materials

•              Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schematics

•              Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

•              Reliable attendance and punctuality

Apprentice:

•              Active registration in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program (required)

•              Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools preferred

•              Willingness to learn and develop technical skills

•              Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

•              Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Additional Requirements:  All Positions

•              Must provide basic hand tools and drill (company provides additional equipment)

•              Ability to meet physical job requirements

•              Reliable attendance and punctuality

Physical Requirements:  All Positions

•              Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly

•              Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the day

•              Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions

Work Environment:  All Positions

•              Indoor and outdoor construction job sites

•              Travel may be required depending on project needs

•              Overtime may be available

Pay & Benefits:

Foreman: $50s+/ hr (based on experience and licensing)

Foreman-Specific Perks:

Journeyman: $38 - $45 / hr

Apprentice: $20 - $37 / hr
