Position Overview

This position within the   Corporate   Accounting department will be responsible for performing accounting duties   supporting various Shaw   entities . This position includes managing relationships with   divisional   accountants or service   providers and   applying US GAAP accounting principles to prepare accurate and timely reporting and related analyses.

Responsibilities:  

• Prepare journal entries with adequate supporting documentation.  

• Monitor, maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts between the parent company and   subsidiaries .  

• Draft reporting packages for the   subsidiaries , or review and approve reporting packages provided by local accountants/3rd party service providers.  

• Manage month/quarter/year-end process to ensure all is accomplished on a timely basis to meet required deadlines internally and externally.  

• Assist with internal and external audits.  

• Document and maintain current processes and procedures.  

• Participate in business and system projects that impact accounting   and financial reporting .  

• Work with all areas of Finance (Financial Services, Treasury, Corporate Assets and Tax) and outside of Finance (IS group, Customer service, etc.) to support financial operations of the   subsidiaries .  

• Recognize process improvement opportunities and make recommendations to improve quality, timeliness and accuracy of   intercompany   transactions.  

• Perform other related duties as assigned.  

Job Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Closely related degrees (ex. Finance) can be considered with relevant accounting experience.

• Existing understanding and knowledge of   US   GAAP .  

• Familiarity with consolidation s   and intercompany accounting   is strongly preferred.  

• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.  

• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and ability to work with detail.  

• Follows direction without close supervision.  

Position may be filled as an Accountant I or II, depending on experience.  

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
