Admissions Officer

Overview The Office of Admissions at the NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking an Admissions Officer. Responsibilities Represent and market NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) to potential students at on‑campus and off‑campus recruitment events. Cultivate relationships with students to build a qualified application pipeline. Assist with the achievement of university, geographic, and department enrollment targets by encouraging qualified students to apply to NYU. Review and evaluate students’ admission applications for graduate and undergraduate degree programs. Approve or deny applications and recommend borderline applicants to academic departments and the Admission Committee for further consideration. Advise students on the application process, academic programs/requirements, financial aid options, and other student services. Required Education Bachelor's Degree Required Experience 2+ years of experience in admissions, customer service or related student services. Preferred Experience Experience evaluating international credentials for U.S. equivalency. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Ability to promote the University. Strong self‑starter who can work independently as well as part of a team. Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to handle sensitive situations and/or people. Valid driver’s license and passport. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively. Ability to market diverse programs and serve as a liaison between admissions and academic program offices. Compensation In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.20. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
