Description Registered Veterinary Technician Full-time and part-time available San Luis Obispo, CA Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay range from $30 - $35 /hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Mission Animal Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians. Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments. Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems. Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members. Experience & Skills Requirements Minimum of 2-years of experience as a Veterinary Technician Experience in dental procedures is strongly preferred Current California Veterinary Technician license (RVT) required Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to explain doctor recommendations and treatment plans Flexible schedule availability Self-motivated and strong organizational skills Collaborative team player with a positive attitude About the Hospital Mission Animal Hospital is a small animal practice located in San Luis Obispo, providing full-service medical, dental, and surgical care.
