Position Summary
The Cathodic Protection (CP) Program Lead/Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing the Eagle Ford cathodic protection program to ensure the integrity, reliability, and regulatory compliance of pipeline and facility assets. This position supports both regulated and non-regulated assets through planning, execution, documentation, contractor oversight, and maintenance of cathodic protection systems.
The CP Program Coordinator serves as the primary field execution coordinator for cathodic protection activities, acting as the interface between Pipeline Operations, Asset Integrity, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and third-party service providers. The role ensures required inspections, surveys, maintenance activities, and regulatory documentation are completed accurately and on schedule. Responsibilities align with corrosion control program requirements and applicable PHMSA, DOT, state regulations, internal standards, and corporate Asset Integrity requirements.

·      Inspect and Maintain Cathodic Protection Rectifiers

Key Responsibilities
Program Execution & Maintenance
- Coordinate and execute cathodic protection activities for pipelines, stations, terminals, tank batteries, facilities, and associated buried process piping.
- Develop annual and monthly CP work plans and survey schedules.
- Coordinate rectifier inspections, annual surveys, close interval surveys (CIS), interference testing, isolation testing, and other required inspections.
- Monitor cathodic protection system performance and identify deficiencies requiring corrective action, including facilitate fit-for-purpose solutions with Engineering to ensure lifecycle optimization
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities for rectifiers, ground beds, anodes, test stations, bonds, and isolation devices.
- Support Facility Engineering and Pipeline Integrity, and Corrosion Engineer program strategies, along with program control strategies to meet long-term integrity management objectives.
- Develop survey routes and independently collect field data.
- Ensure field survey data is uploaded and maintained in required format for cathodic protection records within approved Company databases and record management systems.
- Ensure inspection results (data), maintenance activities, and corrective actions are documented accurately and within required timeframes.
- Maintain regulatory and audit-ready documentation supporting DOT, PHMSA, state regulatory, and company requirements.
- Support audit activities and provide requested documentation during regulatory or internal reviews.
- Coordinate field activities with Pipeline Operations, Maintenance, Land, Production Operations, and Integrity personnel.
- Interface with third-party CP contractors and service providers.
- Verify contractor work quality and adherence to company procedures and standards.
- Track work progress, schedules, and deliverables.
- Review work assignments and contractor daily work output for Bullhorn account
- Review pipeline surveillance daily work assignments and contractor daily work output for the Chapman account
- Provide monthly program performance updates to Pipeline Operations and Asset Integrity leadership.
- Communicate program status, inspection findings, compliance concerns, and emerging risks.
- Maintain program dashboards and performance metrics as requested.
- Ensure all required corrosion control inspections, surveys, maintenance activities, and remedial actions are completed in accordance with:
- 49 CFR 192
- 49 CFR 195
- Applicable state regulations
- Company DOT procedures
- Internal Asset Integrity requirements
- Follow DOT-required activities for pipeline maintenance and ensure activities are documented in the designated database in a timely manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
- AMPP/NACE Cathodic Protection Technician (CP1) certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cathodic protection, pipeline integrity, corrosion control, or related field operations.
- Experience performing work on PHMSA-regulated liquid and gas pipeline systems.
- Demonstrated experience with cathodic protection surveys, rectifier inspections, and field data collection.
- Ability to work independently in remote field environments.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently throughout operating areas.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and electronic data management systems.
The contractor shall:
- Develop survey workflow for field data within existing route framework
- Provide monthly progress updates to Pipeline Operations and Asset Integrity.
- Maintain Veriforce Operator Qualifications (OQs).
- Ensure a minimum of two qualified OQ personnel capable of performing required cathodic protection tasks.
- Follow DOT-required inspection, maintenance, and corrosion control activities for work crews and document all work within required timeframes in the designated company database.
- AMPP/NACE Cathodic Protection Technician (CP2 or higher) certification.
- AMPP/NACE Corrosion Technician certification.
- Experience with CIS surveys, DCVG, ACVG, interference testing, and troubleshooting impressed current systems.
- Experience with GIS, mobile data collection applications, and integrity management systems.
- Knowledge of underground piping, facility corrosion programs, and integrity management processes.
- At a minimum, the contingent worker shall oversee that qualified personnel, or operating under qualified supervision, are maintained for PHMSA covered tasks including:
·      Inspect Cathodic Protection Rectifier
·      Inspect Interference Bonds
·      Clear Shorted Casings
·      Inspect/Test Electrical Isolation Devices
·      Cathodic Protection Potential Measurements
·      Troubleshoot In-Service Cathodic Protection Systems
·      Perform Close Interval Surveys (CIS)
·      Inspect and Maintain Cathodic Protection Rectifiers
