About the Role
The Company is seeking a Fixed Term Managing Director for Policy Strategy and Delivery. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Management Team and will be responsible for leading the Bank's political and economic country analysis, coordinating all country strategies, and overseeing the delivery of policy engagement and capacity building in various critical areas such as sector reforms, governance, and gender and economic inclusion. The role involves working closely with colleagues to ensure the integration of policy engagement with investment activities, with the ultimate goal of maximizing the company's impact. The Managing Director will also be accountable for the department's goals, including the development and delivery of strategies in the areas of economic governance, capital markets, financial inclusion, and digitalization. Applicants for the Managing Director position should ideally hold a Ph.D. or MSc. in Economics or a related field from a leading international university and have extensive professional experience in economics, policy, and governance, particularly in the context of international development. A strong track record in policy engagement, an understanding of private sector-focused development finance, and experience in project design and appraisal are essential. The role requires strong leadership, management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate and guide a team of senior professionals. The candidate should also have a proven ability in client relationship management, negotiation, and collaboration, with a focus on finding solutions in complex, transition market environments. Knowledge of languages spoken in the transition region is desirable.
