Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a day-shift travel contract at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior charge experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Combined adult and pediatric emergency department setting at a 97-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Shift schedule is 4x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; 3x12 schedule may be considered
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope to similar units or sister facilities may be required
• Charting system is Epic
• Free on-site parking available
• Triage responsibilities included

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact RN license required; license must be in hand prior to start
• Required certifications (AHA-issued): ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI
• Minimum of 2 years of ER RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are given priority, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration; RTO submitted after the offer process begins may not be approved
• Required orientation modules must be completed prior to the assignment start date; approximately 4 hours in length
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
