Sterile Tissue Specialist

VisionGift (VG) is a nonprofit eye bank that obtains, evaluates, and distributes eye tissue donated by caring individuals for use in cornea transplantation, research, and education. Those who succeed will have experience and interest in medical or lab‑based and customer service work. As a Sterile Tissue Specialist you will be responsible for distribution and tissue‑processing‑related tasks, including, but not limited to: import tissue record setup, inventory management, aseptic technique, and order processing and distribution. Job Duties Manage sterile tissue inventory, including regular audits Process sterile tissue Sterilize and maintain equipment Maintain laboratory and supplies in a state of readiness by cleaning, performing inventory, and other duties as needed/directed Package tissue for transport as needed Prepare and ship tissue for monthly sterilization, bio and quarterly dose audit runs Process sterile tissue orders and distribute tissue Whole eye excision for sterile tissue processing and more Requirements While this position is learned through extensive on‑the‑job training, related experience will be viewed favorably. Very fine motor skills that are required for processing tissue for transplant 1 year experience in universal/standard precautions & sterile technique 1 year experience in customer service Experience with sterilization techniques and autoclave operation Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office software Ability to work full‑time flexible hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
