TITLE:

Senior Social Media Manager

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Senior Social Media Manager owns Baseball Lifestyle 101's organic social strategy end-to-end — platform strategy, trend identification, content calendar, community management, and performance reporting — while also handling day-to-day publishing and occasional hands-on, native-style content capture (iPhone shot lo-fi content). This is an individual contributor role that works as a peer alongside the Influencer Marketing Manager and TikTok Manager, and partners closely with the Creative team by briefing and directing specific content requests rather than producing all assets independently. This is an exempt position reporting directly to the Head of Growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Social Media Manager is responsible for the following:

• Own organic social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, and emerging platforms — not just execute a strategy handed down, but set it.
• Identify platform and cultural trends in real time and translate them into timely content and posting decisions.
• Plan, schedule, publish, and optimize content across all social channels.
• Brief and direct the Creative team on specific content requests needed to support the organic content calendar, campaigns, and product launches.
• Personally shoot and edit lightweight, native-style content (iPhone/lo-fi) when that format outperforms produced assets.
• Manage the social media content calendar and ensure timely execution of all content plans.
• Monitor social channels and actively engage with followers — comments, messages, and customer inquiries.
• Track, analyze, and report on social performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
• Coordinate with the Influencer Marketing Manager and TikTok Manager to keep organic, influencer, and TikTok content complementary rather than duplicative.
• Support the creation and execution of social contests, giveaways, and community-building initiatives.
• Work closely with E-Commerce and Marketing teams to support product launches, promotions, and sales-driving campaigns, including weekly drop cadence.
• Maintain brand voice and consistency across all social platforms.
• Stay current on social media best practices, platform updates, and industry trends.
• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be weighted at least as heavily.

EXPERIENCE:

5–7+ years of social media marketing, digital marketing, or content strategy experience, with demonstrated ownership of strategy — not just execution. Experience independently running brand social accounts, ideally at a DTC or consumer brand, with minimal oversight. Track record of spotting and acting on platform trends ahead of competitors; experience managing community engagement and audience growth at scale.

SKILLS:

• Deep fluency in social platform trends, algorithms, and best practices — able to spot and act on emerging formats quickly.
• Comfortable shooting and editing simple native content on an iPhone when needed, in addition to directing produced content.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong caption and copywriting instincts.
• Experience with social media management, scheduling, and analytics/reporting platforms.
• Able to brief and direct a creative team effectively — knows what to ask for and why.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and channels simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze performance data and turn it into concrete recommendations.
• Self-directed — comfortable owning strategy independently without a layer of oversight above them.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Creative, Influencer, and E-Commerce teams.
