Sr Vice President Fabrication & VDC - Commercial Mega Projects - Washington

Gryphon Oakwood is partnered with a leading specialty mechanical contractor seeking a Senior Vice President of Fabrication & VDC to lead the company's fabrication and Virtual Design & Construction operations. This executive will provide strategic leadership across fabrication facilities and VDC teams, ensuring seamless integration between design, manufacturing, and field execution. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, expanding fabrication capabilities, implementing innovative digital construction solutions, and supporting the successful delivery of large-scale commercial and mission-critical projects. Key Responsibilities Lead all fabrication and VDC operations across the business. Develop and execute the long-term strategy for fabrication and digital construction. Oversee fabrication production, planning, quality, scheduling, and logistics. Drive BIM/VDC standards, coordination, and digital project delivery. Collaborate with Preconstruction, Engineering, and Operations to improve project execution. Manage departmental budgets, KPIs, productivity, and operational performance. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and process improvements. Build, mentor, and develop high-performing fabrication and VDC teams. Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Support executive leadership in achieving company growth objectives. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 15+ years of leadership experience within mechanical contracting or specialty construction. Proven executive experience leading fabrication and VDC/BIM departments. Strong knowledge of mechanical piping, plumbing, HVAC, and modular construction. Experience supporting large commercial, mission-critical, healthcare, manufacturing, or data center projects. Strong financial, operational, and strategic leadership experience. Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and other BIM/VDC platforms. Excellent communication, leadership, and team development skills.
