Senior Report Developer

The Senior Report Developer is responsible for planning, assessing, and developing business intelligence (BI) reporting solutions to support program areas within the Ministry of Attorney General. This role involves collaborating with project managers and business stakeholders to gather requirements, model and process data using ETL tools, and create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations primarily using Power BI technologies. The position requires onsite work and adherence to quality assurance and accessibility standards. Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirements gathering sessions to understand functional and non-functional needs.
• Assess and define approaches to deliver effective BI solutions in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
• Perform data modeling and develop data processing pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory and Data Bricks.
• Design and develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues discovered during pre-release testing of BI solutions.
• Ensure all reports and dashboards comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA.
• Complete relevant documentation including knowledge transfer materials and communication artifacts.
• Participate in knowledge transfer activities and support migration efforts.

• At least 2 years of experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Paginated Report Builder.
• At least 4 years of experience with SQL query languages including T-SQL and PL-SQL.
• At least 2 years of experience with DAX programming.
• At least 2 years of experience with ETL tools such as Microsoft Azure Data Factory and Data Bricks, including data modeling methodologies.

• Experience troubleshooting BI environments, reports, dashboards, and database queries.
• Ability to analyze data to resolve quality issues and perform report validation.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, consultative, and facilitation skills.
• Experience working in team environments to communicate risks, issues, and technical concepts to non-technical members.
• Experience preparing comprehensive documentation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with additional ETL tools such as Microsoft SSDT and IBM InfoSphere DataStage.
• Experience redesigning outdated reports and implementing business logic within Power BI reports.

• This is a fully onsite position with no remote or hybrid work options.
• Candidates must be available to work onsite 7.25 hours per day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
• Compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA is required for all BI deliverables.
• Knowledge transfer and documentation are mandatory components of the role.

• Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per calendar day, scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM excluding breaks.
• Onsite presence required throughout the contract duration.
