Quality Control Manager

(New Orleans, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Quality Control Manager/Director to oversee and manage all quality assurance and quality control functions within a manufacturing and industrial supply environment. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with customer specifications, maintaining quality management systems, supporting ISO 9000 standards, and promoting continuous improvement throughout production, shipping, and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering error-free products and documentation while maintaining the highest safety standards. Essential Duties: Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process production items, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer and industry specifications. Manage and maintain the company’s quality management system, including ISO 9000 compliance and certification requirements. Review technical specifications and customer requirements for requests for quotations (RFQs) to verify production capabilities and material sourcing requirements. Evaluate Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) and ensure all customer quality requirements are properly implemented and documented. Establish, maintain, and monitor testing procedures and quality control processes throughout production. Verify that appropriate testing equipment is available, calibrated, and utilized correctly. Conduct inspections and testing activities to confirm products meet all applicable technical and contractual specifications. Coordinate the preparation and collection of Certificates of Conformance and other quality-related documentation. Investigate quality issues, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Interface with customers, vendors, and subcontractors regarding technical specifications, quality concerns, and corrective action requests. Train and support employees in quality standards, procedures, and best practices. Monitor production, shipping, and receiving processes to minimize errors and improve operational efficiency. Prepare reports and maintain records related to quality inspections, audits, and compliance activities. Support internal and external quality audits as required. Travel occasionally to customer, vendor, or project sites as needed. Requirements/Skills: Associate degree in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered. Minimum of five (5) years of quality control, quality assurance, or manufacturing experience. Experience with ISO 9000 quality management systems and certification processes preferred. Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or related professional certification is highly desirable. Strong understanding of inspection methods, testing procedures, and quality documentation requirements. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and customer requirements. Experience developing and implementing corrective and preventive action programs. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software systems. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout manufacturing and warehouse environments for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to perform visual inspections of materials, products, and documentation. Ability to use standard office equipment and quality testing instruments. Ability to travel occasionally as required for audits, inspections, customer meetings, or project support. Must be able to work safely in an industrial and warehouse environment.
