Position Details Location: Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, FL Schedule: Full time and part time opportunities available with occasional weekends On Call: No Morton Plant Hospital, a nationally recognized leader in patient care and clinical innovation, is seeking skilled and compassionate Acute Physical Therapists to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy services to patients in an acute hospital setting, supporting recovery from surgery, injury, or illness. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with acute medical conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence (ADL’s). Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and patient education. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes. Document patient progress and treatment in the electronic medical record system in accordance with BayCare standards. Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and state regulations. Qualifications Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Current Florida Physical Therapist license. BLS certification required. Acute care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations in acute settings are welcome. Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills Experience with neurological, orthopedic, or cardiopulmonary patient populations. Familiarity with BayCare EMR systems and documentation protocols. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment. Why Join Morton Plant Hospital?
