Billing And Collections Specialist

Responsible for a variety of duties involved in the billing and collections for Hospice and Palliative services provided in accordance with established procedures and regulations.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Depending on the area of assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Files accurate and timely NOE's and NOTR's
• Files accurate and timely claims for Palliative Care
• Maintains accurate accounting of insurance billing, payments, etc.
• Collaborates with staff to submit authorizations requests and supplemental services for Palliative Patients
• Monitor and submit HIS files
• Monitor, obtain, and submit SNF invoices monthly and coordinate with SNF staff for payment request
• Supports Administrator with A/P activities including sending denial letters, researching claims, and other tasks as requested
• Supports field staff and acts as backup for Team Coordinator as needed
• Other duties as assigned

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $30.00 and $32.00 hour however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

Education:

• Education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform duties/responsibilities.)
• Hospice medical billing experience required, with an emphasis on Medicare and Commercial Payors
• Knowledge of general medical record keeping
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated proficiency in HCHB or EMR preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Organized and detail oriented to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and react quickly under stringent timeframes to meet fixed deadlines
• Current driver license and proof of insurance required.
• High School Degree or equivalent
