Requirements

• 1 year of CDL-A OTR experience
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
• No more than 3 moving violations or 3 preventable accidents
• No excessive speeding (over 21 mph) in the last 3 years
• Must be above 23 years old at the time of applying

Vacancy description

Based in Hamden, CT, join HMD as an OTR solo CDL-A Dry Van driver running nationwide freight lanes. Expect long-haul schedules designed for steady miles and reliable routing.

What you’ll do:

• Operate late-model dry van tractors (under 3 years) with APUs, inverters, and sleepers for driver comfort.
• Safely transport freight across interstate routes and meet delivery windows.
• Perform required pre/post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and handle electronic documentation.

Requirements & pay:

• Must hold a CDL-A and have a minimum of 12 months verifiable experience.
• Compensation starts at 65¢/mile with typical weekly averages around 2,500 miles plus safety, inspection and referral bonuses.
• Home every two weeks, supported by in-house maintenance and comprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k)).
