This position assists with planning and leading activities that promote social interaction, creativity, physical engagement, and overall quality of life.If you enjoy working with seniors and are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, we would love to have you join our team!Position DetailsPosition: Activities AssistantEmployment Type: Full-TimeLocation: Shadelands Post AcutePay Rate: $18.00–$20.00 per hourResponsibilitiesAssist with planning, organizing, and leading daily activities and recreational programs for residents.Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests, abilities, and preferences.Lead a variety of activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, social events, and other recreational programs.Assist with group and one-on-one activities for residents who may have different physical or cognitive abilities.Help create a welcoming, positive, and engaging atmosphere for residents.Encourage socialization and meaningful interaction among residents.Assist residents with participating in activities safely and comfortably.Prepare activity supplies, materials, and designated activity areas.Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and facility programs.Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation in the activities program.Observe resident responses and preferences and communicate relevant information to the Activities Director or appropriate staff.Maintain clean, organized, and safe activity areas.Follow facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.Perform other duties related to the activities program as assigned.QualificationsPrevious experience working with seniors, in healthcare, long-term care, activities, recreation, or a related field preferred.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Friendly, outgoing, patient, and compassionate personality.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with residents of varying physical and cognitive abilities.Creative and enthusiastic approach to planning and leading activities.Dependable, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.Ability to encourage and motivate residents to participate in activities.Commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care and service.Why Join Shadelands Post Acute?Competitive pay: $18.00–$20.00/hourFull-Time positionMeaningful work directly impacting residents' quality of lifeSupportive and collaborative team environmentOpportunity to develop your skills in senior care and recreational programmingMake a positive difference in the lives of our residents every dayMake a Difference Every DayAs an Activities Assistant at Shadelands Post Acute, you'll help create meaningful experiences, encourage social connection, and bring joy to our residents' daily lives.If you're energetic, compassionate, and enjoy making a difference, apply today and become part of the Shadelands Post Acute team!We are an equal opportunity employer.
