From beaches, recreation and athletic facilities, and community gathering spaces, Crystal Lake Park District facilities are where people come to play, learn, and connect. We’re looking for a Manager of Recreation Facilities to help keep those spaces safe, welcoming, and ready for what’s next.

This position directly oversees the operations of the Racket Club, Facility Rentals, and the Athletic programs. The Manager of Recreation Facilities supervises the Racket Club Manager, Lippold Park/Athletic Supervisor, and Facility Rental/Food & Beverage Supervisor, while leading facility maintenance projects across multiple locations, and work with various teams throughout the Park District to deliver a great experience for visitors and staff.

What you’ll do

• Visit facilities regularly and identify needs.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate staff while supporting their professional growth.
• Coordinate facility use, review operating procedures, and respond to public concerns.
• Partner with Park Services on facility projects, vendor/contractor coordination, and priorities.
• Develop goals and budgets, monitor expenses, and recommend improvements.
• Promote a strong culture of safety and risk management.
  

What you’ll bring

• A bachelor’s degree in recreation and park administration, leisure services, or a related field.
• At least four years of management or supervisory experience in a recreation agency and three years of experience managing facilities across multiple locations.
• Strong leadership, communication, customer service, budgeting, and project management skills.
• CPR/AED certification
• Valid driver’s license with vehicle insurance.
• Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification, preferred.
• Illinois Food Management Certification, preferred.
