Sun Recycling's Materials Collection Facility is a facility specialized in receiving, separating, and preparing recyclable materials for sale to end-use factories. Established in October 2013, it is conveniently located in Beltsville, Maryland. Sun Recycling specializes in LEED projects. We operate as a zero-landfill facility and provide LEED credits to our customers. Who are we looking for?

A detail-oriented team player. Seeking full-time employment in a predominately outdoors environment with opportunities for growth and development. Someone that will benefit from participating in a team-oriented environment, with the ability to work independently. Someone that prioritizes safety and time management. An individual who is coachable, and eager to learn.

About the position:

A Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the following:

Operate heavy equipment machinery in a strategic manner
Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment
Identify waste type for materials processing
Direct on-site truck traffic
Maintain consistent communication via two-way radios and hand signals
Perform all tasks in a safe and timely manner
Provide customer service
Upkeep the general cleanliness of the facility

Waste Industry
Volvo EC240BLC High Top Excavator
Front End Articulating Loader Experience
Komatsu 270, 320, 380
John Deere 190 DW

Physical Demands:

Individual must have the consistent ability to:

Stand and walk during a significant portion of their shift
Lift, push, and pull 50-75lbs
Maintain 3 consciousness of peripheral safety hazards
Operate heavy equipment machinery
