Houseperson (and Laundry)

Houseperson The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is currently hiring a Houseperson for the 2026 summer season, temporary part-time (18 hours) or full-time (30 hours per week), effective May 2026 – October 2026. Join the team at the Portland Regency Hotel & Spa, a beautifully restored Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland's Old Port District. Starting Pay: $18 per hour + summer bonus program of up to $1,500, paid at the end of the season Schedule: 30 hours per week, Saturdays are required for this role (days, weekends, and holidays are a must) Part-time = 3 houseperson shifts, Fridays and Saturdays are required Full-time = 3 houseperson shifts, 2 laundry PM shifts, Saturdays are required Qualifications: Must have prior housekeeping experience What You'll Do Houseperson: Vacuums restaurant in the afternoon every day. Vacuum Lounge daily, floors swept and mopped in front of the bar. Sweep and mop public restrooms daily. Sweep and mop stairwells and elevator floors daily. Vacuum upper/lower lobbies and hallway carpets in the morning. Removes soiled linen from overnight rooms and carts and brings to laundry in a timely manner. Separates soiled linen and places in appropriate bins in the laundry room. Replenishes room attendants' carts (i.e. towels, sheets and rags). Assist laundry attendant when necessary. Assist room attendants when necessary. Removes trash from building, three times a day. Communicates often with laundry room for requests. Puts deliveries away when requested by supervisor. Monitors hallways to assure they are free of cots, trash, linen and debris. Completion of all assigned weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual cleaning consisting of but not limited to carpet cleaning, stripping/refinishing floors. Laundry: Wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens in a timely manner Keep the laundry room and back room clean, safe, and organized Monitor washers and dryers to ensure they are operating properly Report any equipment issues to Housekeeping or Maintenance promptly Press pillow shams, table linens, and napkins as needed Remove lint from dryers throughout the shift to maintain safety and efficiency Stock clean linens in designated areas Assist with guest rooms and common areas during slower laundry periods What We're Looking For Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team. Able to lift up to 30-50 lbs with assistance and perform physical housekeeping tasks. Basic reading and communication skills.
