Position Details

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Contract Duration: 8 Weeks

Targeted Start Dates: 11/16 or 11/30

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with at least 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have key certifications, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIHSS or Stroke Certification. Experience with the EPIC charting system is required.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Required Certifications:

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification

Licensure: Active NC or Compact license in hand

Required Skills:

• Accessing and Managing Ports
• Arterial Line Management
• Chest Tube Insertion and Removal
• BiPAP/CPAP Management
• Blood Product Administration
• Caring for Ventilated Patients
• Central Line Care and Management
• Management of Dysrhythmias
• Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Ventilator Management
• EKG/Telemetry Competency

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years in a similar patient care environment
• Experience with an average patient ratio of 3
• Travel experience is preferred

Unit Information

Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics

Daily Patient Census: 10

Number of Beds: 12

Common Patient Diagnoses: Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Stroke, Afib RVR, DKA, Alcohol Withdrawals, Post Cardiac Arrest, GI Hemorrhage

Operational Details

Weekend Requirements: Required every other weekend

On-Call Requirements: May be placed on call depending on patient census

Orientation & Training

Orientation Schedule: Biweekly orientation sessions are available

Certifications: Flu vaccinations are mandatory, with no exemptions allowed.

Attendance Policy

Travelers may have up to three (3) absences per 13-week contract. Attendance will be closely monitored, and excessive tardiness or any No Call/No Show (NCNS) incidents may lead to contract review and further action.
