About the job Google’s software developers create next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and each other. This role joins the GAWSS (GenAI Workspace Safety and Security) team responsible for building AI/ML safety and security solutions. You will lead a team of developers on multiple critical AI/ML projects, including building LLM‑based safety and security auto‑raters, prompt‑injection detectors, and live traffic observability solutions. You will collaborate with Google DeepMind and with cross‑product teams to improve defenses and work closely with first‑party teams across Workspace (Gmail, Chat, Drive, Meet, Calendar, etc.) to ensure their AI features are protected. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large‑scale software solutions. Lead the design and implementation of solutions in specialized ML areas, optimize ML infrastructure, and guide the development of model optimization and data processing strategies. Lead the development of the flagship Prompt Injection classifier. Compensation Base salary range for this full‑time position: $207,000–$300,000 (US) or CAD 216,000–221,000 (Canada) plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Additional compensation details are determined by role, level, and location. Working Language English proficiency is required for all roles unless stated otherwise.
