The Peer Specialist role exists to provide individual peer support to clients experiencing mental health and/or substance use conditions by using lived experience to promote recovery, offer advocacy, and deliver trauma-informed support. The position contributes to an interdisciplinary team by providing insight, guidance, and support that helps individuals navigate their recovery, build coping skills, and achieve personal goals. Competitive Pay & Benefits Competitive Compensation DailyPay – Access Your Earned Wages Before Payday Company-Paid Training Career Growth & Development Paid Training Programs Professional Development Opportunities Certification Opportunities Leadership Development Programs Career Advancement Opportunities Opportunities Across Multiple Service Lines Meaningful Work That Matters Make a Difference Every Day Support Individuals and Families Build Meaningful Relationships Strengthen Communities Join a Mission-Driven Organization What You’ll Do Provide peer support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions Use lived experience to support individuals in their recovery journey Assist clients with developing coping skills and wellness strategies Facilitate peer recovery support groups Support individuals in achieving personal goals (housing, employment, community integration) Assist in developing and implementing person-centered treatment plans Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings Provide advocacy and support for individuals receiving services Assist clients in preparing for recovery plan meetings and expressing their needs Provide education to team members on recovery-oriented care and peer support principles Engage clients through outreach and ongoing support Provide crisis intervention services as scheduled Assist in completing assessments and wellness plans Who We’re Looking For Compassionate Dependable Patient Team-Oriented Service-Focused Professional Positive Committed to Helping Others Qualifications Required: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Certification High School Diploma or GED preferred CPR and First Aid certification Experience working with underserved populations preferred Experience supporting individuals with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record Schedule Part-Time Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation About Our Organization Resources for Human Development is part of the Inperium family of companies.
