Travel CT Technologist - $2,914 per week

Description:

• Workdays involve a Friday to Sunday schedule from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, including on-call and holiday requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification before initiating scans, strictly following department policy and patient safety procedures.
• Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic imaging needs.
• Prepare patients for scans, explaining procedures to ensure comfort.
• Insert IVs if required for the tests.
• Position patients accordingly, employing safe patient handling techniques, which may involve assisting patients with limited mobility.
• Maintain accurate patient records by documenting necessary information within EPIC, ensuring images are correctly sent to the PACS system.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.

Requirements:

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology, maintaining certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure required before starting the position.
• Two years of experience required.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Injection certification is preferred and should be acquired during the orientation process if not currently held.
• Familiarity with Philips and Siemens equipment is preferred.

Soft Skills Required:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Patient and compassionate disposition.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, maintaining a cohesive working environment.

Experience and Skills:

• Level I Trauma experience: 2 years required.
• CT Tech License: Required in New York.
• BLS Certification: Required through the American Heart Association.
• Siemens Scanner Experience: Minimum of 6 months required.
• Epic Experience: Highly desired with at least 1 year of experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.
