JOB DESCRIPTION Since 1966, the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) has been dedicated to providing innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective educational programs and services to meet the diverse needs of children and adults in Greater Hartford. Serving 33 member districts and reaching additional communities statewide, CREC supports approximately 12,000 students annually through more than 120 educational programs. Our offerings include professional learning and coaching for educators, specialized programming for students with diverse needs, and PreK-12 education across 16 interdistrict magnet schools. Additionally, CREC provides school construction, operations, and cooperative business services, while also delivering programs that help adults build real, job-ready skills. POSITION SUMMARY :
The Instructional Coach at CREC River Street School plays a pivotal role in fostering teacher development, improving instructional practices, and supporting student achievement. This position focuses on providing individualized coaching and professional development to educators, with the potential for specialization in a designated focus area, including:

Duties/Responsibilities
- Partner with teachers to improve instructional strategies through modeling, co-teaching, observation, and feedback.
- Support teachers in implementing best practices in lesson design, classroom management, and differentiated instruction.
- Assist educators in using data to inform and adjust instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Build teacher capacity in aligning instruction with state standards and curriculum goals.
- Facilitate professional learning to foster collaboration and shared learning among staff.
- Provide resources and strategies to support continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practices.
- Work closely with school leadership teams to identify instructional needs and develop strategic improvement plans.
- Collaborate with district-level specialists and other instructional coaches to share best practices and resources.
- Support teachers in interpreting and using student performance data to guide instructional decisions.
- Reflect on coaching practices to improve effectiveness and outcomes.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
